are known as protective foods. Our body needs vitamins and minerals for several
vital processes of life and for evolution of blood, bones and teeth. These vitamins
& minerals however needed in fewer quantities are very crucial for
regulating various bodily functions. They help to enlarge bones, heal wounds,
and support your immune system. They also exchange food into energy, and repair
cellular damage.
Vitamins and minerals proceed
under a balanced diet and are they are known
as protective food because they
help in protecting the body against several diseases. Foods containing the required
amount of vitamins and minerals such as vegetables, eggs, meat, milk etc. are advanced
for eating as they provide resistance to the body against many deficiency
diseases such as scurvy, beri beri, etc. Vitamin and Minerals are called
protective foods because vitamin and minerals protect our body and they give
energy to our body so that microorganisms not are able to enter in our body.

on a daily basis at required dietary allocation which is essential for:
- Common health and maintenance.
- Disease protection especially that
of nutritional-deficiency diseases like scurvy, anemia, night blindness, rickets etc.
- Basic functioning like metabolic, conduction and various
other functions.
- Controls movement of body fluids.
- Extension and maintenance of the
body and aids in healing of wounds
and scars.
- Better immersion of other nutrients
like calcium to build bony structures like bones and teeth.
- Normal reproduction.
- Blood clotting functions.
- Conduction of nerve impulses.
- Brain functioning.
Foods
that contain huge amount of antioxidants that make free radicals harmless are
called protective foods. Foods rich in
vitamins and minerals are called to as protective foods as they provide
immunity and protect our body from several diseases and infections.
